“Library” is a visual essay reflecting on the state of my local library - its seemingly run-down state yet being kept afloat by the love and community that the locals and workers put into it.
Through the colours, I wanted to highlight a feeling of both warm and cold or nostalgia and reality to highlight the main themes in my story.
I wanted to convey a narrative about being almost blinded by my nostalgia for this place and abruptly coming to realise the concerning slow degradation of the place. However, the sense of community in the library makes me hopeful that the place will continue to be a beacon of community for the suburb.
